In May 2026, The Children's Hospital at Westmead will open a brand new Surgical Short Stay Unit within our state-of-the-art facility. This purpose-built 12-bed unit will care for children undergoing short stay surgery, as well as the initial 24-hour care for high-acuity and complex surgical procedures. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to be part of this exciting new service from the ground up. The CNE will lead and support the education, capability development and clinical practice of nursing staff within the unit, working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team. This role supports safe, high-quality, child and family centred care and is ideal for someone who enjoys building education frameworks, supporting staff development and embedding best practice in a fast-paced clinical environment

* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer
* Demonstrated effective clinical teaching skills
* Demonstrated commitment to clinical and professional development
* Demonstrated advanced written, verbal and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge and understanding of NSQHS Standards relating to education
* Knowledge of adult learning principles
