Synergie is seeking a Waste Sorter for our client who is a leading waste management facility located at Hobart, TAS.
* $36.70 per hour + Super
* Temp to Perm Opportunity
* Two shifts will rotate each week with first shift starting at 6AM – 2:06PM and second shift starting 2PM – 10.06PM
What you will be required to do:
As a Sorter, you will play a key role in supporting recycling operations by sorting recyclable materials on a fast-moving conveyor line while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Sorting recyclable materials from a fast-moving conveyor line
* Working in a repetitive, noisy, dusty environment
* Cleaning work areas and outdoor spaces as required
* Conducting waste audits for council representatives and clients
* Completing accurate reporting in a timely manner
* Performing routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
* Reviewing procedures regularly with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
To be successful in the role you will:
* Hold a valid car licence (essential)
* Must be comfortable with the rotating day and afternoon shift every 2 weeks
* Have a good work ethic and strong reliability
* Be comfortable with waste smells
* Be able to perform repetitive tasks over long periodsMaintain a strong commitment to safety and compliance
* Be self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and with a team
* Possess high attention to detail
