About The RoleAlzheimer's WA is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team, delivering specialised assessment and intervention services to older adults living independently or with support in the community. Part time or full time opportunities available. This is your opportunity to contribute to enhancing safety, independence, and quality of life for people living with dementia.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties as an Occupational Therapist with us will include:
* Conduct comprehensive in-home assessments to identify functional capacity, cognitive challenges, and lifestyle goals.
* Develop and implement evidence-based care plans that promote safety, independence, and wellbeing.
* Prescribe assistive technologies and home modifications tailored to individual needs.
* Collaborate with clients, families, carers, GPs, and service providers to deliver holistic, person-centred care.
* Advocate for access to funding, services, and community supports.
* Educate and train clients, carers, and team members on dementia care strategies.
* Participate in clinical research, service evaluation, and quality improvement initiatives.
About You
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
* Current registration with AHPRA.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in aged care, community health, or rehabilitation (preferred).
* Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and decision-making skills.
* A valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
* Commitment to person-centred care, cultural competence, and continuous learning.
