Position: Structural Designer
We are seeking a Structural Designer to join our Perth-based team. The role is offered on a 12-month maximum term contract with the potential to extend. Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, you will be involved with a diverse range of projects from concept studies, detailed design, procurement, construction, to commissioning within the mining and minerals processing sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Produce detailed technical drawings in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures.
2. Communicate with the project team, provide updates, raise issues, and attend team meetings.
3. Deliver and contribute to practical solutions.
4. Ensure project time and cost are met by monitoring the effectiveness of designs, scheduling work, resource requirements, and reviewing compliance with the project execution plan and client expectations.
5. Provide technical guidance and leadership to junior team members.
6. Demonstrate high standards of personal safety and safe design practices.
Candidate Profile
1. Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience working on mining and minerals projects; 5+ years if applying for Senior role.
2. Relevant Diploma or Associate Degree is advantageous.
3. Exposure to civil design is advantageous.
4. Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal).
5. Excellent attitude, team focus, and commitment to safety.
6. Proficiency in MicroStation design software is highly desirable.
7. Innovative thinker with the ability to work autonomously to deadlines.
