About the role
The Senior Project Accountant oversees financial aspects of TAFE capital and operating expenditure projects. Responsibilities include building relationships, providing financial advice, monitoring project performance, delivering consolidated forecasts, supporting budget submissions, contributing to governance frameworks, maintaining policies, and producing regular reports. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Project Accounting, within the Finance Business Partnering Corporate team.
About You
You are a financial expert experienced in shaping business decisions through relationship-building, insights, and advice. You have significant exposure to project and capital accounting in large organizations, including knowledge of asset capitalization and expenditure budgeting. You possess strong analytical and communication skills, are organized, and enjoy problem-solving. Experience with report building and ERP systems like Power BI and SAP is advantageous.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* A valid Working with Children Check (required prior to commencement)
* Degree in a related field or equivalent experience
* Membership of a recognized professional accounting association (member or associate level)
* Extensive experience in project accounting and business partnering in large organizations, including asset capitalization and budgeting
* Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to translate insights into recommendations
