Overview
Primary objective
The Manager Technical Architecture is responsible for managing and supporting the team that builds and implements digital solutions contributing to technology enhancements driven by business needs, aiding in the realization of tangible improvements; and working with Agency Business Systems – Human and Shared Services teams that support client agencies including Departments of Health, Education and Training, Children and Families, Housing, Sport and Recreation, Corporate and Digital Development and NT Libraries.
Key duties and responsibilities
* Manage a small team that analyses, designs, builds, and implements process automation, small business systems and collaboration solutions utilising modern technology such as low code, automation, collaboratively and reporting platforms.
* Facilitate the upskilling of staff from diverse backgrounds and levels, ensuring proper use of tools and adherence to team processes.
* Oversee and manage multiple ongoing projects with internal and external resources, ensuring the successful completion of building, innovation, and support activities.
* Ensure the team maintains appropriate documentation, including system design and architecture, project documentation, system specifications, data models, process flow diagrams, project initiation, and project tasking.
* Lead technology changes within the organization by facilitating meetings, drafting proposals, and engaging with stakeholders and executives within the organization to discuss decisions and future direction.
* Manage and utilize low-code platforms to develop robust and scalable business applications that align with business requirements. This involves managing staff and taking part in designing, building, and testing low code technology applications, ensuring they meet functional specifications and business needs.
* Provide expert technical expertise to adapt to changes in technology and drive innovation within the team.
Selection criteria
Essential
* Experience managing technical and business focused ICT staff in the delivery and management of business solutions.
* Demonstrated experience in conceptualising, designing, and building technical solutions to meet business needs, ideally using low code technology, including the ability to manage operational systems.
* Demonstrated experience in project management, including the ability to manage multiple on-going projects and report on projects to various stakeholders including executive management.
* Expert technical knowledge across a variety of disciplines including low code technology, databases, development, reporting and infrastructure.
* Demonstrated experience in the creation and maintenance of comprehensive technical documentation, including system specifications, data models, and process flow diagrams.
* Ability to influence and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders.
* Demonstrated work ethic and attitude, which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, respectful, and innovative. Ability to exercise confidentiality and deal with sensitive issues.
Desirable
* Relevant tertiary qualifications e.g., Degree in Business Management/Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering.
