About the role
We are looking for Disability Support Workers to provide daily support to an NDIS participant living in a Supported Independent Living (SIL) house in Richmond, Victoria. The role involves assisting the participant with community access, daily living activities, and developing independence within their SIL environment.
The support worker's role and responsibilities will include:
* Supporting people with personal care and day-to-day activities in the home and out in the community
* Providing positive behaviour support to our clients
* Using proactive, preventative approaches to manage and reduce challenging behaviours
* Maintaining clear, respectful, and effective communication with the participant, support team, and stake holders
* Completing appropriate documentation through shift notes, incident reporting and data collection
* Contribute to the team's overall objective of providing the best outcomes for our clients
* Work with your team leader/service coordinator to implement and review plans around daily service provision
* Maintain a professional relationship with clients and adhere to the NDIS and company code of conduct
* Above all, be responsive, reliable and accountable to our clients and your team

Qualification/Experience:
* Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care or Higher (or the ability to acquire an appropriate qualification)
* Mental Health Experience
* Trauma-informed, patient, and resilient approach
* Problem-Solving Skills
* Challenging Behavior Experience
* Verbal/Written Communication and Relationship Building Skills
