Technical Officer Role Summary
This pivotal role supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of state-wide radio communications and emergency services management systems.
You will work closely with IT teams and operations to integrate mission-critical systems and support volunteer members across NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the Manager of Emergency Systems in developing and implementing state-wide radio communications and emergency services management systems.
* Collaborate with IT teams and operations to integrate mission-critical systems and support volunteer members across NSW.
* Assist with vendor relationships and prioritise competing technical requests in a dynamic environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience with radio communications and IP network systems.
* Project management style approach to coordinating technical work.
* Systems administration and virtualised environments, particularly VMware.
* Vendor relationship management and balancing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
* Familiarity with VHF/UHF radio systems.
* Practical experience in the maritime or emergency services sector.
* Understanding of the radio and telecommunications regulatory environment in Australia.
* Experience maintaining virtualisation environments (e.g., VMware).
* IP network knowledge including NBN, MPLS, LTE and microwave systems.
