The Geelong College is seeking an experienced and reliable Chef to join our Catering team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, with an immediate start available.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant school environment, with the option to work part-time to full-time hours (28-38 hours per week) during school terms.
This role will be responsible for preparing high quality meals for our boarding students and staff, as well as providing catering for College functions and occasional external events.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
* Previous experience working as a Chef or in a similar role
* Certificate III (plus 2 years of on-the-job training) or Certificate IV in a relevant field
* Experience working in a kitchen environment, ideally catering for large groups
* Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures
* Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
Compliance Requirements
* Hold a current Working with Children's Check (WWCC) - Employee Status, or ability to obtain
* Evidence of Right to Work in Australia
* Completion of the College's anaphylaxis training, or 22578VIC Anaphylaxis qualification
