ERH services the Shire of Campaspe and the cross-border Murray River Council. Echuca Moama and townships are located directly across the state border from one another, separated by the Murray River.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join headspace at Echuca Regional Health. This dynamic position will see First Nations Wellbeing Workers empowering young people to achieve their goals, playing a vital role in enhancing access to mental health services for young people from Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Key responsibilities include:

* Build and maintain effective relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in a manner which is friendly and fitting to their cultural background and life circumstances
* Organise and attend events to promote headspace Echuca, to the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community
* Support the facilitation of clinical and non-clinical group programs and assist with the engagement of young people
* Help the headspace team to provide culturally appropriate key resources and services to young people
* Refer young people to other services and supports when it is in their best interests to do so and with informed consent
* Actively participate in mandatory meetings as required and requested

Qualifications/experience required:

* Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively
* Experience in identifying and reporting clinical risk assessments
* Qualifications and/or work history that demonstrates comprehensive knowledge
* Certificate and/or Diploma in Youth Work, Community Development, Mental Health and/or other related areas
