Your new company
This immediate requirement for a Finance Officer is for an initial 14‑month period within a highly successful, market‑leading organisation. In this role, you will work closely with your direct line manager and engage with key stakeholders, with part of your responsibilities including support for payroll. You will also work alongside the Finance Manager to provide support across accounts payable, payroll administration, project administration, accounts receivable, and general administrative requirements of the practice as needed.
Your new role
As mentioned earlier, your new role will help support the finance manager. The duties will include but not be limited to:
Manage accounts payable including invoice processing, supplier setup, EFT runs, reconciliations, expense claims, petty cash and AP filing.
Support accounts receivable as required, including debtor follow‑up, invoicing (AUD & foreign currency), statements and sub‑consultant reconciliations.
Handle payroll administration including weekly timesheet processing, coding checks, leave reviews, system reconciliations (Deltek Vision & Aurion) and staff training.
Respond to payroll enquiries and maintain knowledge of NES, Awards and internal payroll policies.
Maintain project files, issue job numbers, and prepare costing, information and weekly project reports.
Provide backup for monthly client invoicing, ensuring all reimbursable expenses and consultant charges are captured.
Assist with month‑end tasks including clearing suspense/prepaid accounts, reviewing supplier agreements and supporting finance reporting needs.
What you'll need to succeed
Immediately available or on a maximum one‑week notice period.
Strong, well‑rounded accounts experience across AP, AR, payroll and general finance support.
Proven end‑to‑end accounts payable experience and payroll processing exposure (approx. 170 employees).
Comfortable supporting month‑end tasks, reconciliations and working across multiple finance functions.
Experience with Deltek Vision is preferred but not essential.
Ability to manage competing deadlines and work closely with stakeholders across finance, projects and administration.
