Reporting to the General Manager Power & Electricity Transmission, we have an opportunity available for a Head of Power Engineering & Projects to join our team in Brisbane, Melbourne or Perth. This role is responsible for the leadership, performance and development of the Power engineering and projects team.
Key Responsibilities
Shape and drive engineering strategies, policies and procedures that optimise outcomes and embed continuous improvement across engineering practices.
Provide trusted technical expertise on complex power systems challenges, offering escalation support and acting as the key connection to specialist subject matter expertise.
Oversee the design, specification and procurement of power equipment and systems to ensure fit for purpose, quality and long term performance.
Build and maintain strong relationships with external engineering partners, contractors and suppliers to support effective and collaborative delivery.
Champion robust risk management and quality assurance across the full engineering lifecycle, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards and requirements.
Strengthen reliability outcomes across the national Power and Electrical Transmission portfolio, including the application of OEM insights and proactive risk management.
Your Background
You bring experience managing engineering budgets and resources, balancing priorities to deliver strong and sustainable outcomes.
You have a clear understanding of compliance, with the confidence to ensure alignment with relevant regulations, codes and standards.
You apply a thoughtful commercial lens to engineering decisions, exploring options and identifying solutions that create long term value.
You are comfortable leading project scoping, technical reviews and project management, bringing clarity and structure to complex work.
You contribute strong technical insight to the development and review of equipment maintenance strategies, helping to support safe and reliable asset performance.
