Community Massage Therapist - Supporting those aging in place.
Are you someone who enjoys helping others feel comfortable, calm, and supported in their own body?
At Summit Health Solutions, we are looking for a compassionate, hands-on therapist who wants to do meaningful work — supporting older Australians to stay mobile, independent, and safe in their own homes.
This is not a clinic or spa role. It’s something more personal.
You will be welcomed into people’s homes, often becoming a familiar and trusted part of their week. Through gentle hands-on therapy, supported movement, and genuine care, you will help reduce discomfort, ease stiffness, and build confidence in movement again.
The Role:
This position sits within our allied health team, where you will work alongside physiotherapists and exercise-based Allied Health Assistants to support each client’s individual goals.
Your role is hands-on, but not heavy.
It is calm, considered, and purposeful.
You will use your skills in remedial massage, assisted stretching, and gentle movement to support circulation, comfort, and mobility — always working within a clear Allied Health Assistant scope and under the guidance of our clinicians.
Together as a team, we focus on one simple outcome: helping people stay living well at home.
What the Work Feels Like:
Your day will be varied, but unhurried.
Before each visit, you’ll take a moment to review your client’s plan so you can arrive feeling prepared and confident.
In the home, you’ll create a safe and respectful space. You might begin with a conversation, checking in on how your client is feeling that day. From there, you’ll provide gentle, hands-on therapy to relieve tension and improve comfort, followed by light stretching or supported movement where appropriate.
You’ll have the time to listen, adapt, and build trust — often becoming an important part of someone’s routine and wellbeing.
After each visit, you’ll document your session and communicate with the team, ensuring every client receives coordinated, thoughtful care.
Who this role is for:
This role suits someone who enjoys working closely with people and values connection just as much as clinical skill.
You might be a remedial massage therapist looking to move away from a fast-paced clinic, or someone with allied health training who wants to use their hands-on skills in a more meaningful, one-on-one environment.
You are gentle, observant, and adaptable.
You understand that working with older adults requires patience, respect, and care — and you find that deeply rewarding.
What You’ll Need:
* To be successful in this role, you will have relevant training such as a Diploma of Remedial Massage or Certificate IV in Massage or Allied Health Assistance, along with the confidence to deliver safe, hands-on support within your scope.
* A compassionate professional who deeply understands the sensitive needs of the elderly.
* A valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle are required.
Compliance Requirements:
* Current Working With Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
* Valid National Police Check.
* Up-to-date vaccinations for COVID-19 and influenza.
* Active Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Why Join Us?
* Make a direct impact on the lives of elderly clients, helping them to maintain active, satisfying lives in their own homes.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to share knowledge and refine treatment strategies, fostering a continuous learning environment.
* Enjoy a flexible work schedule that supports your lifestyle needs, coupled with a competitive compensation package.
* Grow professionally in a nurturing environment that values innovation and personal development.
