Primary objective
Ensuring a world-class wildlife tourism experience at the Territory Wildlife Park (TWP), including visitor comfort and safety,
information and interaction with wildlife, and an appreciation of local culture.
Context statement
This role is responsible for coordinating the Visitor Services function of the Park which includes delivering a guides service,
and managing a café, admissions and retail outlet. The section develops and implements activities and events and attends
off-site events from time to time and is responsible for the marketing and promotion of the Park and the roll out of
interpretation and signage across TWP.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Work strategically within the Tourism industry to position TWP as a world-class facility showcasing the unique habitats,
flora and fauna of the Top End.
2. Responsible for coordinating public communications for Park activities in conjunction with the media and marketing
shared service and/or Tourism NT.
1. Identify and pursue opportunities for product development, profitable commercial streams, enhancing visitor attraction
and engagement, sponsorships and productive partnerships to broaden the Park's revenue base and reputation and
influence as a cornerstone of environmental education and entertainment.
1. Lead and manage a diverse team with a focus on excellence in customer service and passion for educating and inspiring
visitors about Top End wildlife and ecology.
1. Actively participate as a member of the Park's management team; adhere to the NTPS Code of Conduct and other rules
and regulations of work and personal conduct.
1. Develop and maintain a close working relationship with custodians.
2. Coordinate the development and content creation for interpretation resources and informative signage at the park.

1. Demonstrated operational experience in tourism, communication, visitor experience and commercial outlet management
2. Demonstrated personal attributes including leadership and management skills, an astute and sensitive approach to
