Job Title: Business Architect (x2)
Location: Canberra
Contract: 12 months + 12-month extensions x 2
Security Clearance: NV1 required
Job Summary
An established Federal Government Agency is seeking two experienced Business Architects to support strategic transformation initiatives across the organisation.
This is a high-impact role focused on aligning business strategy, operating models, and technology investments to deliver measurable outcomes. You will play a key role in shaping future-state capabilities, driving business architecture practices, and supporting complex, cross-agency programs.
Key Responsibilities
* Translate business strategy into actionable architecture and delivery outcomes
* Develop business architecture artefacts including capability models, operating models, and value chains
* Lead business process improvement and transformation initiatives
* Support investment planning, roadmaps, and regulatory reform initiatives
* Facilitate stakeholder workshops and co-design sessions
* Contribute to future-state architecture and enterprise blueprinting
* Provide strategic advice on business capabilities, data, and operational models
* Produce key documentation including business and functional specifications, and reports
About you:
You are an experienced Business Architect with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a track record of working in complex, regulated environments.
Key experience includes:
* Enterprise and business architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF)
* Business capability modelling and process mapping (BPMN)
* Strategic planning and business transformation
* Stakeholder engagement at senior levels
* Service design and human-centred design approaches
* Understanding of data, integration, and API-driven environments
Main Requirements
* Proven experience in business architecture and strategic transformation
* Strong capability in business process improvement (SFIA Level 6 equivalent)
* Enterprise/business architecture experience (SFIA Level 5)
* Excellent stakeholder management skills (SFIA Level 5)
* NV1 Security Clearance (mandatory)
