About The Role
BRG is seeking an experienced Contracts Officer (Level 3) to support the Electromagnetic Warfare Intelligence Systems – Joint & Air (EWIS J&A) SPO under the Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). This role will focus on supporting sustainment activities, managing commercial and contractual obligations, and ensuring compliance with Commonwealth procurement frameworks. You will work closely with stakeholders across Defence, industry partners, and project teams to deliver high‐quality commercial outcomes within a complex capability environment.
Key Details
* Location: Canberra or Adelaide (RAAF Edinburgh)
* Engagement: Full‐time (1.0 FTE)
* Security Clearance: NV1 minimum (must be willing to uplift to NV2)
* Other Requirements: ITAR considerations apply (US export‐controlled material access)
Duties & Responsibilities
* Support development of tender documentation and evaluation activities aligned with ASDEFCON frameworks
* Assist in commercial and procurement functions within sustainment environments
* Develop and manage procurement documentation, ensuring appropriate approvals
* Support subcontractor engagement, due diligence, and management
* Contribute to commercial risk, opportunity, and issue management
* Manage contractual, procurement, and financial activities across the project lifecycle
* Collaborate with stakeholders across Defence, industry, and project teams
* Contribute to a safe and compliant working environment
* Support broader project activities as directed
To Be Successful
* Demonstrated experience in contract management and contract performance (Level 3 equivalent)
* Strong understanding of Commonwealth procurement frameworks and ASDEFCON contracts
* Experience supporting Defence programmes (APS, contractor, or ADF background)
* Ability to work autonomously and meet demanding deadlines
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
* Experience in commercial risk and contract administration
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools
Desirable
* Experience with ITAR/export controls
* Financial planning, pricing, and billing experience
* Exposure to Electronic Warfare or complex Defence capability environments
