From its grand Art Deco beginnings, it has continuously evolved alongside the city's culture — from hosting the US military in the 1940s, to becoming a cornerstone of Melbourne's LGBTQIA+ scene in the 1970s, and a home for punk and counterculture in the 1980s. Following a striking restoration in the 1990s, The Prince emerged as a symbol of Melbourne's culinary renaissance with the opening of its celebrated restaurant, Circa. Today, The Prince boasts three unique levels, each offering its own distinct atmosphere, making it a truly versatile and dynamic venue — and one like no other.
As Venue Manager, you will play a pivotal and hands-on role in bringing this iconic venue to life each day. You'll oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel, lead and inspire a passionate team, and build strong relationships with guests and local suppliers alike. With a focus on exceptional service and memorable experiences, you'll help shape the next chapter of The Prince's story.

* 3+ years in a Venue Manager role
* Understanding and ability of venue reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
* Presence on the floor during peak service periods, including late nights and weekends
* P&L understanding and ability to deep dive into financials to analyze where there is opportunity to grow your business
* Ability to generate revenue-building ideas throughout all aspects of the business
* Write and control an effective roster for both front-of-house and back-of-house
* Ability to stocktake and investigate stock loss
* Order and maintain par levels within the beverage department, food department and venue consumables
* Train, performance manage, and motivate staff
* Provide revenue-generating ideas and work with the Marketing department to drive the business
* Be able to implement and execute promotions throughout the business successfully

* Maintain exceptional service standards and memorable guest experiences
* Monitor and analyze venue performance and opportunities for growth
* Develop and implement promotions and revenue-building ideas across the business
* Roster planning for front-of-house and back-of-house teams
* Stock management, stock loss investigations, and maintaining par levels
* Manage budgets and P&L, and provide insights to drive profitability
* Provide training, performance management, and motivation for staff
