The opportunity
Are you an experienced professional with the necessary qualifications to confidently lead and manage complex Operations Services? If so, the City is seeking a motivated individual who is dedicated to delivering high-quality local government services and thrives on both the challenges and rewards of guiding large, diverse operational teams.
As the Manager Operations Services, you will provide strong and contemporary leadership across all Operations Services functions, ensuring that teams are motivated, well-supported, and empowered to deliver outstanding results. You will oversee the efficient and effective delivery of services related to infrastructure, maintenance, procurement, contract management, project management, and customer service for all services related to roads, drainage, parks & open space, buildings & facilities and fleet assets.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
* Post graduate qualifications in leadership and management.
* Minimum ten years' experience in local government operations setting or similar industry experience
* Minimum of five years' experience in a senior operational management role.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and leading diverse operational teams to deliver local government services.
* Leadership skills that clearly demonstrate the ability to obtain results through people, deliver excellent standards of customer service, and manage budgets at a senior level.
* Capable of building a high-performing team through coaching, guidance, and support
* Experience in contract management and project management.
* Sound understanding of local government services and functions.
* Hold a current unrestricted C class national driver's licence.
* Current National Police Clearance.
