You will be working in a unique 4 level venue, operating 6 days a week for lunch and dinner in a fast-paced environment, focusing on all aspects of a quality hospitality experience. We are looking for an experienced full-time Sous chef.
About you
The successful applicant will have good hospitality experience in quality, fast paced restaurants, including but not limited to A la carte, pizza, functions/events and bar food. Strong experience with pasta and grill section a must. We expect all applicants to be passionate, motivated and take great pride in their work, striving for excellence with experience in Italian cuisine.
Sous Chef role
Qualifications in Commercial Cookery/Culinary Arts from a registered training provider
A valid working visa / residency - this is essential to this role. Short-term applicants will not be considered.
Previous experience as a Chef de partie or Sous chef in restaurants essential.
Creative focus on changing seasonal menu and specials
Full availability including weekends and public holidays
Understanding of and the ability to maintain food safety standards and HACCP
Experience in leading staff during preparation and service.
Proven ability to lead and manage kitchen and staff in Head Chef's absence
Excellent time management and communication skills - we need someone who is efficient in rostering, ordering, coaching, stock control, wage control, mentoring and training.
Excellent technique and knowledge, with experience in Italian cooking.
