Novo Education Space Shoalhaven is relocating and opening a brand-new, purpose-designed campus in Nowra on the beautiful South Coast of NSW in Term 3, 2025. We are seeking a visionary and values-driven leader to take on the role of Head of Campus from Term 1, 2026. If you are available earlier, we welcome expressions of interest for a Term 4, 2025 commencement.
This is your opportunity to lead an established team into its next phase of growth. As we transition into our new campus, we are looking for a leader who can guide the culture, strategy, and direction of the Shoalhaven site, building on strong foundations and aligning with Novo’s trauma-informed, student-centred vision. You will lead the team through a period of purposeful development, fostering a culture where honest conversations, shared ownership, and individual growth are part of everyday practice.
About the role
The Head of Campus is a permanent, full-time executive leadership position based at the new Shoalhaven campus. As part of the Novo Education Space Executive Team, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive our unique educational model, and foster strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the local community.
This role offers a rare blend of autonomy, impact, and purpose. You will play a key role in shaping the direction of the new campus while contributing to the strategic growth of our broader multi-campus school. You will be supported by a collaborative leadership team who believe that leadership is a shared and evolving practice, built on trust, feedback, and a commitment to growing together.
About Novo Education Space
Novo Education Space is a multi-campus, independent Special Assistance School for Years 9 to 12. We are registered with the NSW Education Standards Authority and operated by WEA Illawarra, a not-for-profit Registered Training Organisation and charity.
Our students have often experienced trauma and adversity and are at risk of disengagement from education. Many have significant gaps in learning and require tailored support to re-engage and succeed.
We use the Berry Street Education Model to guide our trauma-sensitive and wellbeing-focused approach. Our practice is grounded in high expectations, meaningful relationships, and unconditional positive regard.

What we’re looking for
You are an experienced and values-driven educational leader who is committed to making a meaningful difference. You bring:
A minimum of three years’ experience in educational leadership
At least seven years of teaching experience
A demonstrated ability to lead teams, build culture, and work collaboratively across disciplines
A passion for inclusive, trauma-informed education and innovative practice
The capacity to lead with clarity and empathy, and a belief that honest, respectful communication and ongoing reflection are essential to strong teams
