Research Quantum Engineer for Open-Access Computing Facility
This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the establishment of Australia's first open-access quantum computer. As a Research Quantum Engineer, you will play a crucial part in developing an open-source quantum platform and collaborating with state-of-the-art equipment.
About the Role
* Contribute to research design, proposals, and development of the facility
* Provide expertise to end-users and ensure efficient operation of the facility
* Maintain records, ensure compliance with ethics, and apply safe design principles
* Assist in designing complex experiments, set up equipment, and optimize research techniques
* Draft research proposals, conduct literature reviews, and train users
* Mentor staff and students, and contribute to professional and community activities
Requirements
* PhD in experimental solid-state quantum computing or related field; postdoc experience preferred
* Research profile in circuit QED and superconducting quantum circuits
* Knowledge in nanofabrication, device control software, and quantum computing hardware
* Experience with dilution refrigerators and infrastructure
* Track record of publications, funding, and supervising students

* Full-time, fixed-term position for up to 4 years
* Base salary: $112,572.59 - $133,381.10 + 17% Superannuation
