As a Program Coordinator with ITEC Youth, you won't just manage a program — you'll change lives. This role is vital in delivering safe, consistent, and empowering care for young people in the statutory child protection system. You'll shape meaningful experiences, lead your team with purpose, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to help young people thrive.
This is a Cairns-based role with a regular overnight visit to Townsville every two weeks. Travel expenses are covered.
What You'll Be Doing
This is a fast-paced, varied role that requires compassion, initiative, and organisation. You'll be responsible for:
Coordinating daily individual support plans tailored to each young person
Developing care plans in collaboration with young people, their teams, and stakeholders
Maintaining case management responsibilities and actively engaging in Child Safety discussions
Coordinating appointments, education access, health consultations, and activity scheduling
Ensuring incident reporting and shift documentation is accurate, timely, and complete
Promoting engagement, emotional safety, and household stability for young people
Managing site-level needs, including groceries, supplies, and program consistency
Upholding the privacy and confidentiality of all workers and young people
About You
You're a strong communicator, a calm presence, and a solutions-focused professional with a heart for young people.
You'll thrive if you have:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong knowledge of basic financial processes (accounts payable/receivable)
Confidence using Microsoft Office, Excel, and email systems
The ability to build trust and engagement with diverse stakeholders
Strong time management, initiative, and accountability
A team spirit — with the ability to lead and work independently
A willingness to grow with ongoing training and professional development
What You'll Need (Mandatory)
Current Australian Driver Licence
Valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
Ability to complete LCS2 Child Safety Suitability Clearance
