Hunter New England Health is seeking a reliable and organised Ward Clerk to join the Mixed Ward team at Maitland Hospital, providing vital administrative support to Medical, Surgical, and Orthopaedic patients in a dynamic and rewarding hospital environment.
Working Monday to Friday (no weekends), this role offers a balanced work schedule while providing valuable experience in healthcare administration. In this position, you will be a key point of contact for patients, families, and clinical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the ward through professional, accurate, and timely administrative support.
You will work within a collaborative and supportive team, with opportunities to develop your skills, enhance your professional experience, and progress your career within NSW Health.
Responsibilities
* Accurately register patients and maintain up-to-date records
* Coordinate patient discharges efficiently and effectively
* Deliver professional, patient-focused customer service to patients, families, and staff
* Provide day-to-day administrative support to nursing and clinical teams

You are highly organised, adaptable, and able to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment. You work confidently both independently and collaboratively, communicating in a friendly and approachable manner that makes patients, families, and colleagues feel supported and informed.
