This includes tasks such as cleaning canteen areas, including pantries, freezers, cool rooms, and storerooms, as well as ensuring that equipment and utensils are cleaned to appropriate standards. Additionally, they may undertake cash register operations and assist with canteen-related duties as required, ensuring smooth daily operations. The role may involve participating in meetings and training sessions to stay informed about best practices in catering, health, safety, and hygiene. They play a crucial part in food and stock control, including ordering and stock rotation, to ensure the canteen operates efficiently and sustainably The successful applicant should possess a blend of practical experience, customer service skills, and a strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Interpersonal and communication skills are desirable, as the role requires interaction with staff, students, and suppliers.
