Exteria Group (under our brands Modus Australia and Exteria) designs and manufactures architectural products for public open space — shade structures, modular amenity buildings, and park furniture installed across councils, schools, and public spaces nationwide. Everything is manufactured in our Canning Vale facility, and the quality of what leaves our floor matters to us.
About the Role
You'll run a team of assemblers, welders, trade assistants — and be accountable for everything that happens on the floor including scheduling, quality, safety and people. You'll report to the Operations Manager and be committed to deliver every order on time, in full, and to specification, and helping the business kick goals.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Production & Delivery — Set the schedule, allocate resources, and make sure every order ships right. When something goes wrong, you own the root cause and the fix.
People Leadership — Lead, coach, and hold your team accountable. Build capability, manage performance, and set the standard for how we show up.
Efficiency & Growth — Apply LEAN principles to eliminate waste and increase throughput, help improve processes, products and upskilling of people.
WHS & Compliance — Model safety-first behaviour, run monthly toolbox talks, and close out every incident properly. Zero lost time injuries is the target.
Stock & Finance — Keep stock accurate and at specified levels, track hours against jobs, and support cost reporting.
What We Need From You
You must have:
3+ years leading a manufacturing or production workshop across varied processes.
Practical knowledge of metals, materials, and engineering concepts.
1-2 years of applied experience implementing LEAN or continuous improvement practices.
Proven people management — coaching, accountability, scheduling.
Strong communication skills and native level English.
Comfortable and efficient with technology, including ERP systems and Excel.
Australian work authorisation required at time of application.
Bonus if you have:
CNC machinery experience.
A trade, engineering, or business qualification (diploma or higher).
