Senior Finance Analyst Salary: $113,022 – $136,747 (Plus superannuation)Fixed term / Ongoing role: OngoingUsual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)Usual work location: 121 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (flexibility may be available) The RoleThe Senior Finance Analyst plays a key role in providing financial analysis, advice and insights to support effective oversight of TAFE resourcing and financial performance across the Victorian TAFE Network. Reporting to the Manager, Entity Finance and Analytics, the role prepares clear, evidence-based advice and recommendations informed by strong financial and data analysis. You will translate complex funding and performance data into strategic insights that inform policy and decision-making, supporting effective and equitable resource allocation. Working collaboratively with departmental teams and TAFE stakeholders, the role contributes to improving funding models, enhancing reporting processes and supporting initiatives aligned with government priorities, with a focus on innovation, transparency and sustainable financial outcomes. Main Accountabilities * Provide specialist professional financial services and advice informed by strong analytical capability. * Apply innovative thinking and analysis to influence developments within the area of responsibility. * Engage with stakeholders to understand issues and deliver clear, relevant financial insights. * Formulate policy options and advice to support funding, resourcing and performance outcomes. * Develop briefs on highly complex financial issues, presenting options to inform decision-making. * Initiate research and analysis within the area of expertise consistent with organisational objectives. The TeamThis role sits within the TAFE Performance, Finance and Infrastructure branch of the Office of TAFE Coordination and Delivery (OTCD), part of the Skills and TAFE Group. OTCD provides system leadership for the Victorian TAFE Network, working with independent TAFEs and dual-sector universities to strengthen performance, sustainability and alignment with government priorities. The branch has responsibility for financial oversight, funding programs, performance and accountability frameworks, and initiatives that drive improved outcomes across the network. About YouYou are a detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical, budgeting and forecasting skills, ideally gained within government or complex organisations. You bring sound judgement, commercial awareness and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to a range of audiences. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, enjoy solving complex problems and value collaboration with finance teams, business areas and external stakeholders. Your experience using financial systems and working within government finance frameworks will support your success in this role.
