Details: Expression of Interest (EOI) is invited for the above position from 27 January 2026 to 29 May 2026 with the possibility of an extension and/or permanency. The applicant needs to be motivated to provide high-level administrative support to the Head of Department and teaching staff. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the efficient operation of the College and to support excellence in teaching and learning across the department.
Key skills for the position include:
* Highly developed liaison, written and oral communication skills to communicate effectively with industry, government directorates, private employers, students, members of the public, college staff, educators, and the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) community.
* Highly developed organisational skills and ability to respond to directives.
* Professional interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
* Demonstrated ability to work under minimum direction, set priorities and meet deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate departmental and/or College meetings, appointments and associated documentation.
* High level administrative, record keeping and computer skills, this includes eLearn, Banner, Timetabling and TRIM Content Manager.
* Demonstrated ability to consistently display high level quality customer ACTPS principles practices and attributes.

Notes: This is a four-day temporary position (Mondays plus three negotiable days), available from 27 January 2026 until 29 May 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months and/or permanency. This position is part-time at (29:44) hours per week and the full-time salary noted above will be pro-rata.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
