Our client is one of Australia's well-regarded equine facilities, based across 2000 acres on the South Coast of NSW. Their world class facilities provide a unique experience for their visitors by combining beautiful architecture together with the latest equine technology and love of horses!
Your enthusiasm, maturity, reliability and your passion of horses will provide efficient and effective support for the facility while reporting directly to the General Manager.
You usual hours of work in 0700am till 330pm with availability to work events and with an increased work load during breeding season.
**Duties include but not limited to**:
- Handling of foals and yearlings; training to lead, tie up, stand/hold for farrier and load.
- Care and welfare of the horses including the scheduling and administration of vaccines and worming for youngstock, in conjunction with Veterinarian and nursing staff as required
- Preparation and loading of youngstock, mares and foals for transportation or relocation.
- Provide and organise logístical placement of horses trained by external trainers, movement of mares and surrogates from breeding facilities and clients.
- Relocation of mares and foals around the property as required and retrieval of mares and foals for breeding/ scanning.
- Assistance with recipient mares when and where re-training is required.
- Assisting the breaker with the groundwork and riding with the breaker.
- Liaise on a regular basis with Executive Chairman, General Manager, Veterinarian and Veterinarian Nurse Manager on preparation for the sale of horses.
- Implementation of the horse management programs, collaborating with equine staff to achieve specific outcomes.
- Monitor the conditions of the horses and ensure that all they are in healthy and excellent condition.
