Job Title: Leadership Development Specialist
The role of a Leadership Development Specialist is crucial in cultivating, developing, and sustaining high-quality educational leadership. This position comes under the direct line management of the Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop Assistant Principals and Middle Leaders through coaching and mentoring to promote reflective practice.
* Design and implement differentiated professional learning pathways aligned to AITSL Standards.
* Facilitate structured induction and ongoing leadership development programs for school-based leaders.
* Evaluate leadership development by tracking growth, effectiveness, and impact of school leaders.
* Support system-wide improvement through continuous growth and learning.
* Facilitate appraisals for Assistant Principals, Middle Leaders, and other school leaders as applicable.
* Conduct research and engage with stakeholders to inform evidence-based leadership strategies and policies.
Requirements:
* Extensive experience leading Middle Leaders in a school environment.
* Demonstrated experience leading professional learning and development initiatives.
* Ability to design and implement differentiated professional learning pathways.
* Experience facilitating structured induction and ongoing development programs for educational leaders.
* Experience developing meaningful metrics to track leadership growth and program effectiveness.
* Current understanding of leadership theory and evidence-based practices in educational settings.
* Knowledge of AITSL Standards and their application to leadership development.
* Ability to integrate research findings into practical leadership strategies and policies.
* An ability to think strategically to support consistency and cohesion across initiatives.
* Sound understanding of education mission, values, and leadership expectations.
* Deep understanding of school leadership and career development.
* Experience with data analysis and reporting tools.
* Understanding of digital platforms for coaching and professional development delivery.
Candidates should hold:
* Masters of Educational Leadership (or relevant post-graduate equivalent).
* Extensive experience at a Principal/Assistant Principal leadership level or system equivalent.
