Technical Information and Content Specialist (Contract, On site)

Location: Adelaide, South Australia

The Technical Operations team is responsible for the infrastructure and tools used throughout the organization to deliver amazing customer experiences and power PlayStation.

Join the Technical Operations Team, where you'll help build and document the backbone that keeps PlayStation running seamlessly. You'll collaborate with brilliant engineers, global teams and creative thinkers to make complex systems clear, usable and future‐ready.

Responsibilities

* Assist with the organisation, upkeep, and creation of internal technical documentation relating to areas such as data centres, internet networks, cloud and on‐premises compute/virtualisation platforms, and project management.
* Organise existing documentation – discover, review and organise existing documentation, edit and streamline, identify gaps, lead efforts to ensure accuracy and consistency of documentation across the division.
* Collaborate with key stakeholders, global cross‐functional teams, and internal business users to define, support, guide, and maintain documentation standards and requirements.
* Translate complex systems into clear, accessible "how‐to" guides for a wide range of technical audiences.
* Provide proactive guidance and support to engineers by writing or assisting with writing internal technical documents, standard operating procedures and other software, systems or network related documentation.
* Draw and maintain technical diagrams to support operational documentation.
* Review and maintain various document and presentation templates.

Skills and Knowledge

* BS/BA in Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, or equivalent preferred.
* 3+ years of relevant experience in a Technical Documentation or related role, in addition to an IT, network, software development or related field.
* Strong general technical skills.
* Experienced with using Atlassian Confluence and Jira.
* Comfortable with using, interpreting, and documenting terminal commands in Unix‐like operating systems, software code in code repositories like GitHub and GitLab, and network infrastructure configuration.
* Strong knowledge and technical understanding of internet networks, data centres, cloud and on‐premises infrastructure, and other related areas.
* Experience in designing visual assets such as workflow charts, diagrams, banners, images and presentations.
* Meticulous, with a sharp eye for consistency, grammatical errors and ambiguities.
* High competency with written and spoken English.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills – facilitate collaborative and instructional sessions, provide strong clear guidance and support.
* Curious, eager to learn, and not afraid to ask questions.
* Proficient in taking and organising notes; ready to answer questions on‐demand.

Additional Attributes

* Experience working alongside global operations teams across different time‐zones and countries.
* Familiarity and/or competency in languages other than English, such as Japanese.
* Professional experience as a Business Systems Analyst.
* Familiarity or experience in graphical design, using applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
