Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) are seeking proactive, community-focused professional to build partnerships and deliver programs that create meaningful outcomes for our people.

DAC's Community Support Officers are responsible for building strong connections with the Dambimangari community and supporting members in ways that improve their quality of life. The role focuses on engaging directly with community members, Elders, and youth through face-to-face interactions, consultations, and cultural activities. CSOs act as a key link between the Corporation and its members, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met, while also helping connect them to services and opportunities.

This role will be based in Port Headland, WA with requirement to travel throughout the Kimberley region as required.

To achieve full-time capacity and meet cultural service needs, we are seeking to hire two part-time candidates - one male and one female - who will share responsibilities for this role. It is a genuine occupational requirement for one of the successful candidates to be male, and one to be female in accordance with the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) Section 27 and Section 50, to ensure culturally appropriate engagement with community members

Key duties include:

* Gather feedback from Corporation members on key issues and provide insights to the CEO to support Board decision-making.
* Collaborate with the CEO and staff to improve communication with members including regular Facebook posts, newsletter articles and face to face consultations, and regular updates to members.
* Provide daily support to Dambimangari male Elders, including assistance with administration, finances, and connecting them to essential services.
* Guide Elders through application processes for services, benefits, and government programs.
* Encourage participation of Elders in DAC events, services and consultations.
* Develop pathways for member involvement in succession planning for all DAC-related affairs.
* Lead and actively participate in programs and services that support young people and families within the Dambimangari community.
* Engage youth in accessing services that enhance employment opportunities and promote mental and physical wellbeing.

What We Are Looking For:

Motivated and culturally aware professionals with a passion for community development and engagement, bringing a strong mix of cultural understanding and practical experience, including:

* Relevant qualification in community development, social work, or leadership, or equivalent experience.
* Hands-on experience working with Aboriginal communities and understanding cultural sensitivities.
* Demonstrated ability to source, apply for, and acquit funding, as well as manage program budgets effectively.
* Experience delivering community initiatives that create meaningful impact.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with emotional intelligence and the ability to build strong relationships.
* Proficiency in MS Office Suite and strong organisational skills.
* Current C Class Driver's License
* Ability to obtain and maintain:
* o Working with Children Check
* o National Police Clearance
* o First Aid Certificate

About the Dambeemangaddee people:

We are the Traditional Owners of the land and waters along the north-west Kimberley coastline, extending from the Robinson River, just north of Derby to the Prince Regent River in the far north of the Kimberley region in WA. It has been our home for many thousands of years. We carry the cultural responsibilities of our ancestors to look after Country. Our Country is of great conservation significance, home to many threatened and endemic species, mighty rivers, coral reefs, powerful whirlpools, rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and more than 700 islands. Dambeemangaddee are part of the Wandjina-Woongudd community. We all share a unique body of beliefs and cultural practices we maintain strong connections to our land through our Law, Culture, songs and stories. We visit our Country when we can and have set up homeland communities on our remote coastline. We want to return to Country, live on our homelands, regain control, and teach future generations.

About the Corporation:

Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) is a small, community-driven organisation based in one of the most remote and spectacular regions of the Kimberley. We represent and work for the Dambimangari Traditional Owners, guided by Law and Culture. With a team of over 50, most of whom are Traditional Owners, DAC delivers a wide range of programs and services that support our people, protect Country, and strengthen culture. Our key functions include:

* Managing Native Titles and stakeholder engagement (mining, tourism, development)
* Members Services in health, education and wellbeing
* Land and sea management, including ranger programs and marine parks
* Cultural heritage and Visitor management.
* Economic development and Remote infrastructure
* Corporate Services (finance, admin, payroll)

DAC offers:
