Do work that matters

Balance Sheet Risk Management (BSRM), partner with Group Treasury, to provide independent challenge and oversight of core Treasury functions, including funding, liquidity, transfer pricing and traded and non‑traded market risks and asset and liability management. The team facilitates policy development, independent oversight and challenge, reporting, regulatory obligation management, monitoring risk exposures vs limits. Liquidity and Funding Oversight is a specialist function within BSRM.

This role is pivotal in supporting independent review, challenge and acceptance of the Group’s core liquidity and funding functions including monitoring exposures vs limits, liquidity assumptions, stress testing, contingent and annual funding plans and report submissions to APRA. This role supports Group Treasury in the development, implementation, and communication of its Liquidity and Funding Risk Framework across internal and external stakeholders.


Key responsibilities for this role include

* Monitor and elevate Liquidity exposures vs limits across the Group.
* Coordinate with Liquidity and Funding components of Group‑wide APRA driven industry stress tests, including participation in relevant working groups.
* Challenge the Risk‑Weighted APRA 210 liquidity assumptions using qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques.
* Review the regulatory obligation attestation, framework, policies, standards, controls and compliance arrangements supporting compliance with prudential standards.
* Support the industry‑wide uplift of APRA 210.


We’re interested in hearing from people who have

* Demonstrated hands‑on experience in Liquidity and Funding risk management, ideally within Group Treasury or a Line 2 risk function.
* Applied experience interpreting and challenging APS 210 Liquidity requirements.
* Familiarity with data extraction (SQL) to support review and challenge Group Treasury policies and procedures (desirable).
* Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal to support senior management reporting.
* Strong stakeholder management: able to build trusted relationships across Finance, Treasury, Risk and broader business units.
* Ability to liaise with Treasury stakeholders to provide constructive challenge and influence outcomes, and to confidently represent Risk in management forums.
* A proactive risk mindset, with the ability to identify emerging risks and act accordingly.
* Tertiary qualifications in finance, commerce, economics, statistics or relevant business or quantitative studies.
