About the Opportunity
We have been nominated to deliver a program of works for Western Power relating to the Clean Energy Link. The Environmental Sustainability Specialist will shape the environmental legacy of the project and contribute to our commitment to sustainability, community wellbeing, and regenerative infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
* Liaise with construction teams and engineers on environmental issues.
* Manage systems to support project delivery and obtain compliance with relevant state and commonwealth environmental approvals.
* Report environmental performance and opportunities for improvement to the Environment and Sustainability Manager.
* Provide support to the project team to meet environmental commitments.
* Implement Environment Policy, Management Plans, Subplans, Procedures and Legislative Requirements.
* Drive commitment to environment and sustainability outcomes within project teams.
* Mentor and facilitate development of direct reports.
* Develop and update environmental documentation including CEMP, environmental procedures, worksite environmental management plans and environmental control plans.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant statutes, regulations, rules, procedures, standards, and policies.
* Develop and deliver environmental training, toolboxes and inductions.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Equivalent.
* Substantial site experience with environmental regulations and implementation of management plans in the construction industry.
* Working knowledge of audit procedures and processes.
* Highly developed communication skills and ability to lead a team of coordinators/advisors in the field.
