About the Opportunity

Join our team and explore great career opportunities working alongside a multidisciplinary team of health professionals. This role involves close interaction with patients and their carers,ensuring their comfort and safety.

Key responsibilities include:

* Transferring patients across Liverpool Hospital using beds, wheelchairs, and other necessary equipment.
* Assisting nursing staff to provide effective and safe patient care.
* Collaborating with nurses, supervisors, managers, patients, and the public to meet ward orderly needs.

What You'll be Doing

* Provide safe and efficient transport of patients throughout the hospital Health services to wards, medical appointments in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
* Ensure hygienic and efficient cleaning standards are in-line with infection prevention policy and procedures.
* Assist the Department Manager in the efficient and effective operation of the Central Ward Orderly Service.
* To provide transport of patient related equipment throughout the hospital.
* Transfer, admission, viewing and discharge of the decease to or at the Mortuary and other locations within the Hospital in accordance with the relevant Policy and Procedure.
* Attend Emergency Calls in accordance with the relevant Policy and Procedure. E.G. MET Call Assist, Stroke codes-trauma calls, Obstetrics Code Red and Yellow, Aggressive Patient Emergencies include Code 7 MHU, Helicopter Landings and Fire Alarms.
* Provide clinical support including assisting the Nursing Staff with Patient Care according to the relevant Policy and Procedure.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.
