Founded in 1952, the Paspaley Pearls Group is a diverse group of companies. Whilst its core business is in pearling, including pearl production, wholesale and retail, it also has extensive assets and involvement in a diverse range of commercial property including development and investment.
This role is based at our head office in the state-of-the-art Charles Darwin Building, in Darwin NT and will report directly to the General Manager – Properties.
The Properties Business Unit is growing due to an increased investment in commercial property, particularly in hospitality and accommodation acquisitions. Therefore, we are seeking an enthusiastic Property Leasing & Asset Manager with the ambition to broaden their skills and to assume an increasing responsibility that aligns with this expansion.
To be successful in this fantastic opportunity you will have solid experience as a Leasing Property Manager and on the path to Asset Manager status. The applicant will have to be highly dedicated and motivated and have an excellent level of commercial acumen.
You must also be able to demonstrate an exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and other team members, as well as be able to recognise emerging issues, and by using initiative, formulate and implement solutions to add value.
Responsibilities
* Prepare leasing strategies and assist in the negotiation of all leases and transactions associated with the Group and finalise their approval with the General Manager – Properties.
* Managing investment properties (commercial, industrial, and retail) located in Darwin and interstate.
* Have professional relationship management skills to assist and communication skills with stakeholders.
* Have strong experience in contract and contract management experience.
* Manage the day-to-day functions of the in-house maintenance division and including external contractors.
* Provide thorough interpretation and preparation of monthly financial and activity reports.
* Assist with the preparation of annual operational budgets for Darwin & interstate properties.
* Carry out accurate management of all operational revenues, expenses and debts.
* Assist the General Manager with Business Unit reports and other strategies.
* Assisting the General Manager with a wide variety of property and development projects.
The successful candidate will need to be fantastically organised, able to multi-task, work autonomously, demonstrate flexibility and work under pressure adhering to deadlines.
Essentially you will need to demonstrate your ability to work with MicroSoft Office products and Property Management software applications.
As well as the above, we want someone with confidence, who is self-aware and tuned in to situations around them, is not afraid to ask questions if unsure, and can communicate any issues, discrepancies and red flags that may arise to various stakeholders in the business.
