What you will be doing
The Senior Data Analyst is a part of the Government Directed VET Team, who are responsible for the publication of Government-funded students and courses, VET Qualification Completion Rates, VET in Schools and Government Funding of VET.
The team work closely with the Commonwealth and State and Territory Governments responsible for VET, to meet our members' needs and support understanding by the broader VET sector.
In this role, you will:
* work with the broader ByNCVER team to deliver timely, robust and engaging publications.
* lead analyses, reporting, and improvement functions for the Government-directed VET team.
* drive continuous improvements across all of NCVER's statistical collections, surveys, products, publications and services.
* provide expert input and guidance to others to build NCVER's statistical capability.
* engage with stakeholders to identify and implement changes that improve the usability and impact of NCVER's data.
* identify, conduct and manage complex data and statistical projects, respond to requests for information from key external and internal stakeholders.
* provide expert advice on NCVER's data assets and VET data more broadly.
* demonstrate data mastery, within enterprise data platforms, and expertise in product development and communications.
What you will bring
The successful candidate will require the following skills and experience:
* Proven ability to deliver reports and associated products (such as unit record files), with a history of leading cross-functional project teams.
* Demonstrated history of identifying, implementing and embedding continuous improvements within a statistical context.
* Experience interpreting complex datasets and translating them into meaningful insights and narratives for a variety of stakeholders.
* Proven capabilities to identify, form and maintain stakeholder relationships and act as a representative of the organisation.
* Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with others to produce outputs.
* A degree in a numerate discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Actuarial Studies, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Experience in the VET, Education, or Skills and employment sector, and/or with NCVER data, is preferred.

* Full-time equivalent salary will be in the range of $100,000 - $120,000 (plus 12% superannuation) commensurate with skills and experience.
