About the role
As a Processing Operator joining the Warehouse team, you will join a large group of experienced Operators who consider each other as family at our thriving Dandenong South branch. Our team is highly safety focused, and process driven. You will receive thorough training by a supportive leadership team setting you up for success to become a high performing Operator.
This role offers full time secure employment and is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in the steel industry.
We currently have 2 roles available, one on day shift and one on night shift, working Monday to Friday with over time available.
Shift Hours
- Day shift: 6am to 2pm
- Night shift: 10pm to 6am
Salary Information
- Hourly wage - $32.44 per hour + 30% extra for night shifts
- Overtime available
- Allowances for laundry - $12.92 per week
Responsibilities
- Use specialised CNC production machinery & cranes to process steel products into custom lengths ready for fabrication in major projects (full training provided)
- Utilise computer-based production tracking software to ensure production plan is followed & correct product is produced
- Train to operate various steel processing machinery such as Beamlines, Saws & Robotic plasma cutters
- Assisting with general warehousing duties when machinery is not running to maximum efficiency within the workplace
- Effectively work within a team environment to achieve production KPI's
- Take ownership of your machines performance including output, downtime, quality & housekeeping

Qualifications
- Forklift ticket highly regarded
- Ideally from the steel/heavy industry with previous machine or overhead crane operation experience
- Exposure to lean manufacturing principles would be advantageous
- Good verbal, literacy, numeracy & computer skills
- Ability to learn quickly & be trained in new processes/systems
- Strong commitment to the safety of yourself and the team
- Be able to work independently whilst achieving targets and producing high quality product
