With continued growth and increasing project demand, we are currently looking for a skilled and experienced Civil Engineering Technician to join our dynamic team in Bankstown. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to contribute to the successful planning, coordination, and delivery of high-quality construction and engineering projects.
The candidate is expected to perform the following duties and responsibilities but are not limited to:· Assist in preparing project proposals, quote and documentation.· Estimating the material, labour and other resources costs· Preparing sketches, charts, tabulations, plans and designs for construction works· Evaluating and validating construction materials' test reports· Organizing and supervising work activities· Interpreting work assignment instructions, applying appropriate procedures and selecting equipment· Collecting and analysing data, and carrying out computations· Examining construction project sites and arranging installation, maintenance and repair work and ensuring they are within specifications.· Assessing actual material costs against the tender cost during the project construction phase.
Qualification:· Tertiary Qualification in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
Skills and Requirements:To be successful in this role, applicants must demonstrate:· Minimum 5 years of experience working in a busy environment in a similar role· Excellent AutoCAD drafting and design skills· Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and engineering standards· Proven ability in cost estimation, tender preparation, and project documentation· High-level organisational and site coordination capabilities· Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications· Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices within the construction industry· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail· Effective communication skills for liaising with engineers, builders, suppliers, and clients· Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced project environment and meet deadlines
