Primary objective
Assist the Big Rivers Workforce Services team with the delivery of high-quality workforce services to NTPS client agencies to support them with
the management of their human resources.
Context statement
Workforce Services are delivered to client agencies under a centralised services model across a geographically and culturally diverse environment.
The Workforce Operations and Partnerships team provides support across a range of HR service areas.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide client focussed end to end support and workforce relations services to assist client agencies to manage their human resources (HR).
1. Develop strong working relationships with client agencies to understand their workforce relations needs, and to provide accurate information
on terms and conditions of employment, recruitment, HR policy and practice.
3. Ensure compliance with NTPS and agency legislative and delegated requirements, enabling informed, evidence-based decision making.
4. Assist Workforce Relations Senior officers and client agency managers with case management and early intervention activities.
1. Provide mentoring, training, support, and guidance to junior team members contributing to their development.
2. Participate and contribute to HR projects including the review, development and implementation of policies, procedures, systems to deliver
effective and consistent workforce operations and partnerships services across the NTPS.
1. Provide timely and accurate advice to managers and employees on HR matters, including identifying and resolving less complex service
delivery issues.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Experience and working knowledge of operational HR management principles, with the ability to interpret and apply legislation as it relates
to HR processes and advice.
1. High level of client focus and the demonstrated ability to apply empathy, exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
2. Highly motivated and results driven with the ability to learn quickly and adapt existing skills to the changing needs of the clients, team and
branch.
4. Very good interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact with managers and employees at all
levels and from diverse cultures.
5. Good written communication skills to draft correspondence, policy, procedures and guidelines and contribute to HR projects.
6. Proven problem solving and negotiation skills, reinforced by demonstrated ability to grasp issues readily, and analyse client agency needs to
identify and resolve problems or escalate for resolution where required.
7. Ability to mentor, train, support and provide guidance to team members.
8. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of being professional, accountable, honest, innovative and respectful.
Desirable
1. Sound operational knowledge of the Public Sector Employment and Management Act 1993 and NTPS recruitment and selection processes or
similar, and HR Management systems.
1. Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR or a related field.
