Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with research projects, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports. The Research Assistant will work closely with the research team to ensure that all projects are completed on time and to the highest standard.
Responsibilities:
* Assist with research projects by collecting and analyzing data
* Conduct literature reviews and summarize findings
* Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
* Maintain accurate records of research activities

* Assist with administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. psychology, sociology, economics, etc.)
* Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and statistical software (e.g. SPSS, SAS, R)
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team

* About the Role:
* •12 months Fixed Term Contract as a Research Assistant in our Research & Development team
* •Potential extension or becoming permanent after initial 12 months.
* •This role will be based in Redfern, Monday – Friday.
* •Entry level opportunity in research to participate in creating and developing new technology and diagnostic products for clinical applications

* Your primary responsibilities will include:
* •Planning, performing, summarising, and interpreting experiments.
* •Designing and optimising qPCR Presentation of experimental results in group meetings and to line managers.
* •Writing study plans and study reports.
* •Working on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* •Performing tasks in compliance with ISO13485 and internal Quality Management System
* •Proper recording and retaining of project information.
* •Working according to the organisation’s laboratory safety, health and environment standards.
* •Performing general laboratory duties.
* Key requirements: (Qualifications/ Technical & Specialist Skills/ Experiences)
* •Minimum qualification Bachelor of Science with honours in a life sciences field
* •Experience in molecular biology techniques
* •Previous experience in qPCR assay development and optimisation
* •Working knowledge of laboratory and QMS environment
* •Previous experience working in a PC2 laboratory and with infectious organisms is highly desirable
* •Possess strong data analysis and interpretation skills, critical and analytical thinking skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and pro-actively resolve scientific problems
* •Possess strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint

* •Have a high intellect, enthusiasm, positive outlook, and a genuine desire to make a difference
* •Have meticulous technical execution with strong attention to detail
* •Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills

* •Have a diligent work ethic and be highly organized
* •Able to multitask, possess excellent time management skills and an ability to work to deadlines
