Risk & Compliance Manager – Investments

Mercer | Sydney or Melbourne | Hybrid

Mercer Investments Australia (MIAL) is seeking aRisk & Compliance Managerto support our Line 1 risk and compliance activities across the Investments business. This is a hands‐on role partnering with stakeholders to strengthen control effectiveness, support incident management and reporting, and contribute to AML/CTF and sanctions screening activities.

We will count on you to:
* Deliverrisk and compliance monitoring and reportingfor Mercer Investments Australia (MIAL).
* Proactively monitor adherence toframeworks, policies, procedures and controls, identifying gaps and driving practical remediation.
* Support business‐led investigations intoincidents and issues, including timely updates, root cause analysis, remediation tracking, prevention of recurrence and (where required) regulatory reporting.
* Provide and coordinateRisk & Compliance training, includingIncident ManagementandRoot Cause Analysis.
* Monitor and support annualCPD completionrequirements (includingRG 146and Responsible Managers).
* SupportAML/CTFactivities includinginvestor risk ratings,transaction monitoring, andWorld‐Check sanctions screening.
* Assist the Senior Risk & Compliance Manager withad hoc tasks and projects.
What you need to have:
* 7+ years'experience inRisk, Compliance and/or Legalwithinfunds managementor a similarfinancial servicesenvironment.
* Strong understanding offinancial markets, investment products and investment management processes.
* Proficiency inExcel, Word and PowerPoint(Power BI skills desirable).
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with sound research and administration capability.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain compliance requirements.
* Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to deliverpractical, business‐aligned compliance solutions.
* Tertiary qualification inLaw, Commerce, Financeor a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

* Experience supportingincident managementand delivering meaningful, measurable remediation in an investments environment.
* Working knowledge ofAML/CTF controls(risk ratings, transaction monitoring, sanctions screening) and comfort operating in a "hands‐on" Line 1 setting.
* Strong reporting mindset—able to turn data into clear insights (including exposure to dashboards/Power BI).
* Confidence partnering with Line 2 Compliance, Internal Audit and external auditors while maintaining strong business relationships.
