In this dynamic and multifaceted role, you will be responsible for leading the cake and bread production shift while also overseeing the overall operations of the bakery. **Your Role**:
This is a dual role, your time will be split between running the cake / bread shift and overseeing other departments in the bakery in your capacity as Production Manager. Responsibilities include:
Bakery Team Leader (Cake and Bread Shift) ~ 24 hrs:
- Running the daily cake and bread shift, ensuring products are crafted to the highest q
- Manage your team of bakers, pastrycooks and assistants (11+), providing guidance and training
- Develop production plans, to effectively address customer demand
- Manage waste and maintain unwavering quality standards.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies
- Create and adapt recipes for cakes and breads based market trends
Bakery Production Manager ~ 20 hrs:
- Oversee overall bakery operations, ensuring efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Coach and develop department Team Leaders to lead and motivate the wider team (30+)
- Implement and sustain efficient production processes
- Oversee the recruitment and training of the bakery team
- Ensure compliance with company standards, policies, procedures and OH&S;
**Requirements You Bring**:
- Minimum 3 years food production or manufacturing experience in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership background with demonstrated success in leading and motivating teams
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage both shift-specific tasks and broader bakery operations
- Excellent communication skills for effective team coordination
- Ability to identify and drive process improvements
- Proven track record in problem solving and an eye for detail
- Desirable: Baking and/or Pastrycook qualifications, experience with Continuous Improvement principles are highly regarded and can set you apart.
