Cambridge Gulf Limited (CGL) is a public unlisted company delivering critical infrastructure and services across the East Kimberley (WA), Northern Territory, and Far North Queensland. Our core operations span port management, bulk fuel distribution, logistics, and accommodation services. We operate the Wyndham Port, supply fuel to remote mining and service sectors, and manage fuel cartage and retail outlets. CGL also owns and is expanding a hotel complex in Kununurra under a Property Management Agreement with Best Western. Through these operations, CGL plays a pivotal role in supporting remote supply chains and driving regional economic development.
We are currently seeking a CFO / Company Secretary to join our executive team. This is a rare opportunity to make a genuine impact in a senior leadership role, working closely with the CEO and Board of a highly respected local business.
The Role
As CFO and Company Secretary, you will oversee all financial operations and corporate governance activities, while contributing to the strategic direction of the company. You'll be responsible for:
Managing all financial and management reporting
Preparing annual budgets and regular performance reviews
Completing annual financial statements in line with AASB standards using Accurri
Understanding and applying relevant Australian tax legislation to ensure compliance (note: tax returns are outsourced)
Ensuring compliance with ASIC and ATO reporting obligations
Maintaining relationships with auditors, banks, insurers, and key external stakeholders
Company Secretarial duties for one public and three proprietary companies
Working with the CEO and Board to develop and implement long-term strategic plans
Overseeing internal controls, risk management, and financial reporting
Supporting key commercial negotiations and corporate development initiatives
About You
We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced finance professional with a proactive, hands-on approach and strong leadership capabilities.
Minimum 8 years financial leadership experience, including 3+ years at senior management level
CPA or CA qualification
Proven financial leadership experience
Strong Knowledge of AASB, corporate reporting and financial governance
Working knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance
Strong analytical and commercial skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Demonstrated leadership and team management ability
Proficiency in Office 365 and ERP systems (Netsuite or similar enterprise systems)
Eligible to work in Australia with appropriate visas/permanent residency
Knowledge of petroleum, mining, ports, or shipping industries
Prior Company Secretarial experience
Current driver's licence
