Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting Council's financial operations, including payroll, financial reporting, asset management, budgeting, and annual and long-term financial planning.
* Gaining practical experience across a broad range of local government finance functions.
* Working within the finance team and under the guidance of experienced accountants.
About You
The ideal candidate will:
* Hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (or be nearing completion).
* Have a solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
* Possess high-level computer skills, particularly in spreadsheet and database applications (Excel and Access).
* Demonstrate strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
* Be proactive in seeking opportunities to learn and develop professionally.
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Be collaborative and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
Compensation & Benefits
* Base salary range of $76,843 p.a. based on relevant skills and experience.
* Option to work flexibly on a 9 day fortnight or 19 day month RDO structure.
