About the Position
Location: Port Augusta
Status: Part Time FTE 0.8 (Permanent ongoing)
The Domestic and Family Violence Service provides support to people at risk of, or experiencing, domestic violence. Working independently and as part of a team, the role involves professional case management, advocacy, and counselling. The successful candidate will facilitate the process of moving women and children who are or have been exposed to domestic violence toward independent and/or safe housing.
Responsibilities
* Provide high‐quality case management, advocacy and counselling to domestic violence clients.
* Facilitate access to safe housing and other supports for women and children.
* Maintain accurate case notes and record required information.
* Engage collaboratively with community agencies and support services.
* Work independently to meet deadlines and manage workload.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Current Australian driver's licence.
* Relevant experience in homelessness, domestic/family violence or a similar role, paid or voluntary.
* Knowledge of issues affecting domestic violence clients.
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to establish positive, empowering relationships.
* Advocacy skills focused on client needs.
Desirable Qualifications
* Certificate IV or above in a Human Services discipline.
* Tertiary qualification in a human services related field (e.g., social work).
