About the role
Are you an experienced and dedicated Site Team Leader looking to take on a challenging and rewarding role in the cemetery industry? Geraldton Cemetery is seeking a full-time Site Team Leader – Cemetery Worker to oversee the day-to-day operations of our cemetery located in Geraldton, WA 6530.
What you'll be doing
* Supervise and coordinate the work of the cemetery grounds team to ensure the overall maintenance and presentation of the cemetery grounds.
* Assist with performing and/or overseeing routine Cremations.
* Assist with preparation of gravesite for Burials.
* Perform hands-on cemetery work such as backfilling gravesites, lawn mowing, and general grounds maintenance.
* Liaise with families and funeral directors to ensure smooth, professional and compassionate service
* Maintain accurate records and data related to cemetery operations
* Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
* Provide leadership, training and development for the grounds team
What we're looking for
* Significant experience in a cemetery operations or grounds maintenance role, with a proven track record of leading and motivating a team
* Strong understanding of cemetery operations and regulations, including workplace health and safety requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with families, funeral directors and other stakeholders
* Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
* Proficient in the use of gardening and landscaping equipment
* A Certificate III or higher in Horticulture or a related field (landscaping etc.) would be highly regarded.
* Excavator Licence - obtained or willing to obtain ticket.
* Front End Loader Ticket - obtained or willing to obtain ticket.
