We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Social Worker to join the inpatient unit of a dedicated multidisciplinary team in Townsville. This role will see you supporting patients in an acute mental health setting, providing essential care and advocacy to improve patient outcomes during their admission.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive social work services to clients admitted to the inpatient mental health unit
Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop care plans in collaboration with the inpatient clinical team
Provide counselling, advocacy, and discharge planning support for patients and their families
Liaise with community services and external agencies to ensure continuity of care post-discharge
Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred, holistic care
Requirements
Tertiary qualification in Social Work (eligible for AASW membership)
Demonstrated experience in acute or inpatient mental health
Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Commitment to patient-centred care and advocacy
