We are seeking an experienced, hands on and strategic Financial Controller to oversee the financial health and statutory requirements of the organisation, and contribute to its long-term sustainability and success. 
The Role Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership Team, the Financial Controller will provide strategic financial leadership while managing the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation. 
This is a hands-on role where you will work closely with the leadership team to support decision-making, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive financial performance. 
You will manage a small finance team and oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, cash flow, payroll, tax and compliance. 
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Operational Leadership Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to develop and execute the organisation's financial strategy. 
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements. 
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and risk management initiatives. 
Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. 
Ensure compliance with all specific regulatory and funding requirements, including audits. 
Manage cash flow, working capital, and banking relationships to maintain financial stability. 
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with ATO, GST, payroll tax, WorkCover, insurance, and superannuation obligations. 
Oversee internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and mitigate risk. 
Operational Oversight Oversee accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and asset management processes. 
Drive process improvements and system enhancements within the finance function. 
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement Lead, mentor, and develop two direct reports within the finance team. 
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operational managers and department heads, to enhance financial literacy and accountability. 
Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies. 
About You Proven experience as a CFO, Financial Controller, or Senior Finance Manager in a medium-sized organisation. 
Solid technical accounting knowledge and understanding of compliance obligations with State funding. 
Excellent proficiency in Excel/financial modelling. 
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop small finance teams. 
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
