About the role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial and management reporting to support operational and strategic decision-making.
The Accountant will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting compliance obligations, and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement across the business.
This position offers exposure to senior leaders and cross-functional teams within a complex, operationally driven environment.
What you’ll focus on:
* Preparation of monthly financial and management reports
* General ledger maintenance, journals and reconciliations
* Accounts payable and receivable oversight
* Bank and credit card reconciliations
* Budget monitoring and cashflow reporting
* Payroll accounting including superannuation and payroll tax
* Audit support and liaison with auditors
* Compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and taxation obligations (GST, FBT)
* Stakeholder engagement across operational departments
* Supporting process improvement initiatives within Finance
What you’ll bring:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Commerce
* CPA or CA qualified (or working towards) – desirable
* Minimum 5 years’ post-degree experience in a similar accounting role
* Sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and financial governance frameworks
* Experience in payroll accounting, superannuation and payroll tax
* Budget development and cashflow modelling capability
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
* High attention to detail, integrity and a collaborative mindset
