Grocery Manager (Hands-On)

IGA GLENGALA is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Hands-On Grocery Manager to lead our grocery department.
This is a key leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a busy supermarket environment and is confident managing all aspects of grocery operations — from stock control and merchandising through to team leadership and meeting KPI targets.

About the Role
As the Grocery Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the grocery department and ensuring the department is consistently maintained to a high standard.
This is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to work on the floor daily alongside the team.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage daily operations of the grocery department
* Stock ordering, stock control, and inventory management
* Maintain strong merchandising and shelf presentation standards
* Lead, supervise, and train grocery team members
* Ensure accurate stock rotation and date control
* Manage promotional activity, ticketing, and store standards
* Monitor sales performance, shrink, and department KPIs
* Ensure compliance with safety, policies, and procedures
* Work closely with store management to drive department results

Essential Requirements (Must Have)
To be considered for this role, applicants must:
* Have proven supermarket grocery management experience
* Have experience working in IGA (preferred) or another major supermarket (FoodWorks / Woolworths / Coles / Aldi)
* Be confident with ordering, merchandising, stock control, and team leadership
* Be reliable, organised, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
* Have strong communication and time management skills
